Maria Fotaki, Doctoral Student
Maria Matthaiou Fotaki was born in Athens in 1978. She spent 4 years in the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) studying for a B.A in Economics, where she successfully finished by the year 2001 with first class honors. During her graduate studies, Maria has received plenty of scholarships and honors for exceptional academic performance from the State Scholarships Foundation and other institutions.
After completing her M.Sc. studies in Decision Sciences at the Athens University of Economics and Business with a distinction in December 2002, she enrolled in the PhD program in the Department of Management Science and Technology at AUEB, under the supervision of Professor A.P. Refenes. Her area of research is Financial Econometrics and Risk Management and she is currently working on Contract theory and Financial Risk Management. She joined the Financial Research Center of AUEB in 2003, where she has been part of 3 projects, working as a research assistant. Maria has previously worked as a research assistant in the Athens Institute of Economic Policy Studies (IMOP), where she was responsible for the collection, analysis and elaboration of references concerning recent papers and essays in the theory of economic growth and European economy and in the Business Trends Department of the Foundation of Economic and Industrial Research (IOBE). |
